Title Change: Where The Wild Wind Blows –> Birth of the Corpse King

“The world stopped at this moment, the birds stopped singing, the trees stopped swaying and the voices of man stopped reaching the gods. The great earth mother had forsaken them for their sins and nought but a single Eagle could resist. The age of reckoning had come and the gods were all in it.”Scroll of Terra 7:3

Chapter 3: Where the Wild Wind Blows

“The sky was always the envy of those without wings, Little Bird. Why won’t you share?” The darkly coloured woman drew close to Little Bird, “Us ground dwellers are poor, helpless, afraid. Why not take your wings off and hand them over too us? You were in our situation too.” The woman pulled back so here entire body was visible, physically she was very beautiful. Her womanly proportions matched the ferocious look on her face and in her eyes, yet something was missing. Something near her back was made something missing entirely. Not the wings of a bird of flight, no, but ones of a bat. The dark, featherless wings of the fallen birds were missing from her back, and she wanted replacements.

“These wings upon your back look as if they had seen their time in the sky; why not pass them to the next person? Share the burden.” Little Bird had similar things upon her back, yet they could no longer be called wings of a pure bird. The taint that spread across them with nought but an olive leafs worth of white in them, the woman was furious. She had wanted PURE wings, wings that made her look like an angel with comparison to the god of beauty. Instead, in front of her were those of what were the remnants of an eagle, turning into a raven.

“No matter, these shall do.” The sensation of flesh and bone ripping apart met Little Bird then, her screams were mercilessly met with endless pain and torture while a being she calls monster appeared from behind her and fulfilled the woman’s commands, while the woman herself pinned her down by her arms and legs, letting Little Bird move her back in agony of the separation. The ground dweller acquired her wings and left Little Bird there with the monster.

Pleased, the monster tied her with metal chains that looked like stronger versions of gold and pulled her closer to the ceiling like a dirty rag to dry.
